Creating space for connection and communion through evidence-based, culturally responsive care
I offer individual therapy, parent coaching, and comprehensive psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults.
I specialize in working with clients navigating anxiety and depression, sleep and insomnia difficulties, and life transitions. I also work with parents seeking support in navigating behavioral challenges with their children. I’m especially passionate about serving BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, veterans, and individuals living at the intersections of multiple identities. I am also trained in providing comprehensive, culturally-integrative psychological assessment.
My work is client-centered and grounded in cultural humility. As a therapist, I draw from CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based practices, and tailor my work to the needs and goals of each client I serve. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to explore the ways identity, culture, and lived experience shape their well-being. I believe that this work is inherently multicultural and that meaningful change begins when we honor this.
I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from New York University and completed my internship at the Atlanta VA Healthcare System. I also hold a Master’s in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, an evidence-based therapy for individuals with Insomnia, as well as the Modular Approach to Therapy for Children, an evidence-based treatment for Parents of children with anxiety, depression, trauma, or conduct problems.
Beyond my clinical work, I have been involved in teaching, supervision, and professional engagement focused on culturally responsive assessment. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, attending live music events, traveling locally and internationally, and staying connected to the communities that continue to shape and inspire my practice.
I work under the direct supervision of Dr. Kia Silva, Psy.D.
