Meg McLeroy, LMFT

Office Location: Atlanta and Athens

I believe that a therapeutic relationship built on trust and respect offers an opportunity for healing and growth.

Focusing on possibilities versus obstacles, I assist clients who are struggling with issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, grief and major life transitions. Integrating experiential and cognitive behavioral models with systems theory helps us identify issues and understand new ways for dealing with the challenges that contribute to dysfunction and distress. I work with individuals, couples and families to clarify values and develop skills, tools and strategies for making desired changes and achieving goals.

I am trained in EMDR which is a "power tool" for dealing with trauma and shifting maladaptive beliefs and thoughts. With couples who are experiencing difficulty around communication and conflict resolution, I help identify patterns and dynamics in the relationship that contribute to difficulties. I enjoy working with both the newly coupled as well as with those couples who share a long history together. Seeing the therapeutic journey as collaborative, a safe space is offered to explore areas of imbalance and to identify relevant themes for therapy. My approach is adapted to suit your unique strengths and needs. Engaging in a positive therapeutic experience enhances your ability to live an intentional and rewarding life.
