Matt Dooley, MS, MBA, LAPC, NCC
I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NCC). My clinical experience includes working with individuals with concerns resulting from mood disorders, anxiety, grief, drug and alcohol abuse, trauma, coping with chronic medical conditions, relationship difficulties, sexual identity, career dissatisfaction, uncertainty and development, and life transitions. I primarily work with emerging adults (18-25) and working professionals.
Therapy helps people live happier lives. My primary goal as a counselor is to help individuals identify their strengths and to develop plans to use those strengths to overcome difficulties. I integrate psychodynamic theory and cognitive behavioral interventions to facilitate the counseling process and promote life skills development.
Counseling is a second career for me. I was successful in business for 10+ years, but grew to be unfulfilled by the work. Counseling provides me opportunities to help others navigate their own challenges and lead more meaningful lives.
